We are a group of local physicians and nurse practioners trained in anesthesiology, pain management and internal medicine who work together to treat acute and chronic pain conditions.
Our practice is outpatient based with staff privileges maintained at several facilities in the Islands. Patients are referred from a variety of specialists, including chiropractic, primary care, orthopedic and neurological services.
Our expertise includes treatment of patients with a wide range of acute and chronic pain conditions. We have extensive experience in new and appropriate utilization of a vast array of advanced interventional therapies along with pain medical management.
We also specialize in the treatment and medical management of employees injured on the job. We are well educated on the details of the workers comp claim filing system and will provide the best care and pain management available.
Specific conditions we treat include: lumbar radiculopathy (sciatica), cervical (neck) radiculopathy, post laminectomy syndrome (back and leg pain persisting after surgery), post herpetic neuralgia (shingles), complex regional pain syndrome (reflex sympathetic dystrophy), lumbar compression fractures, myofascial pain and many other chronic pain conditions.
At Big Island Pain Center we are devoted to providing only the safest and most appropriate care for our patients. We utilize nationally recognized scientific guidelines such as Official Disability Guidelines (ODG), American Society of Interventional Pain Physician Guidelines (ASIPP), Internation Spine Intervention Society (ISIS) and the American society of Anesthesiology guidelines in our treatment plans. We have capability for in-office (non-facility) procedures that allow the patient sedation when necessary for comfort yet still allow you to return home within a couple hours.
